As an Application Support Analyst you will be providing second line support to the business taking appropriate action to ensure all! applications are running to our service level agreements (SLA).
You will be responsible for managing business expectations through effective communication with other technical teams, minimising outages to production systems and producing root cause analysis to enable implementation of appropriate process changes where required.
As part of the Application Support function you will be encouraged to contribute to the improvement and development of the applications currently supported as well as the processes and procedures of the team. Reporting on incidents, detailing tends and validating production criteria are also key to this role.
About you
When it comes to knowledge of IT Application Support you are a natural with experience in the Financial Services environment to enhance it. You are able to demonstrate an understanding of the impact Industry Standards has on LV= and its systems with experience of supporting applications in Oracle and .net. You'll have and in-depth knowledge of support practices and ! models which will enable you to suggest the best solutions to improve the service delivery.
The ability to comprehend business drivers and look at the wider picture to offer alternatives when necessary to avoid re-occurrence through both excellent verbal and written communication is invaluable along with collaboration and influencing on a regular basis. Having proven experience of these will be necessary along with being able to work across all levels of technical, senior and audit departments.
Being ITIL certified will certainly be beneficial as will having the awareness of varying development lifecycles. You will also possibly have a background in some of the following: ASP.net (C#), ASP.net (VB), ASP/VB6, Oracle- PL/SQL, Oracle forms and reports.
