The Global Compliance & Regulatory Management depart! ment which is responsible for the provision of compliance services to the Firm.
The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) organization has over 700 staff members across the world. The team covers both global and business-aligned functions supporting the firm's Anti-money laundering, Sanctions, and Anti-corruption programs and is lead by the BSA/AML Officer and the AML Operations Executive.
The position is part of the firm's newly formed AML Alert Analysis team within AML Operations. This team will work in conjunction with the AML Investigations team to provide them with an initial assessment of potential Money Laundering / Terrorist Financing activity. The successful candidate needs to have strong processing and analytical skills; the ability to work independently, the willingness to work alerts across the various lines of business and is adaptable to change. In addition, the candidate needs to demonstrate extensive banking and compliance knowledge in ! working AML/KYC related issues, the ability to exercise sound judgment and to observe the highest degree of confidentiality in the handling of information received in the course of their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team which monitors intake controls to ensure all alerts are logged and assigned in a timely manner Manage a team which ensures that alerts contain complete and accurate data collection and documentation, including alert, investigation, or SAR history; KYC information; relevant account and transaction data, plus any other required information to assist the investigation Perform a managerial review of inspect and repair on alerts as required Manage team and develop methods for team effectiveness Serve as a point of escalation for Investigations, and provide feedback and direction to team members Build relationships with AML Investigations units, and effectively communicate and transfer information for case investigations Functi! on as a key contributor with demonstrated knowledge of AML/KYC issues, ! as well as broader functional knowledge Participate in the development of goals and execution of strategies within the function or department Engage in strategic initiatives as required by the Alert management team
Qualifications:
Significant experience in compliance or related position Proven lead/management experience Adept to multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment Supervisory or managerial experience in an operational or investigational capacity Strong problem solving ability coupled with the ability make decisions autonomously Exceptional research and analytical skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data, decipher higher risk attributes (transactional, geographical, product, customer type, etc.) and disposition appropriately. Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint) Control mindset which is evident by adherence to controls and standards! Familiarity with the firm's internal systems and processes is a plus
