Description: Qualserv Consulting Ltd is currently interviewing Media and Communications Officer right now, this job will be settled in England. Our client are a large local government organisation and are looking for an experienced Communications Officer to join their team. This is initially a 6 month contract which ! could be extended for the right applicant.
Our client is looking for someone to come on board and help deliver their communications strategy including media relations, public relations, issues management and crisis management. As part of this role you will be required to work as our clients duty press officer and be responsible for all incoming media enquiries. You will also be tasked with devising and implementing PR campaigns.
You will also preferably be CIPR or CIM accredited and possess a degree in a Media / Communications subject. The successful candidate will be competent at dealing with the media on a day to day basis and can show experience of managing of negative , crisis and emergency issues. You will also have knowledge of relevant legal issues including data protection, freedom of information and libel defamation
