Hospitality Apprentice

Location: Bournemouth, England

HTP Training is currently recruiting for a variety of Hospitality Apprentices to join teams within a high quality hotel based in Bournemouth, Dorset.

You do not need to have any pre! vious experience of working in a Hotel as full training and support is provided. This is an Apprenticeship job opportunity so you will also be working towards an Apprenticeship qualification in Hospitality.

The roles available

• Hospitality Service Apprentice with bar work and day portering-

Your key responsibilities will be to facilitate the front of house operation. You will ensure that the highest standards of service are met at all times. You will implement any daily / weekly plans as instructed and will provide assistance to your line manager and head of department. You will set up and serve at events booked at the hotel. You will monitor and manage stock items behind the bar and ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained.

Training

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services, Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Hospitality Services)

Skills

You will have good interpe! rsonal skills and be courteous. You will be able to keep calm ! under pressure.

You must be organised and able to use your own initiative and work within a team, alongside others. Good communication skills - whether dealing with beverage manufacturers, delivery people or customers of the bar.

• Front of House Reception -

Your role as a receptionist at the Hotel is varied and will never be boring! Main duties include:

• Greeting guests
• Answering the telephone
• Taking bookings
• Checking in guests
• Checking out guests including printing bills and taking payment
• Cashing up the hotel bars
• Administrative/computer-based activities
• Providing information to guests

Training

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Front of House Reception, Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Front of House Reception)

• Apprentice Chef -

A commis chef is the ideal starting position i! n a kitchen and provides the novice chef with an invaluable opportunity to learn about working in every area of the kitchen.

At each kitchen station, the commis chef has the opportunity to learn from the senior chef in charge of that area. As you develop your skills as you rotate throughout the kitchen, this gives you the opportunity to consider which area you want to eventually specialise in.

Training

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery, Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Professional Cookery)

All of the Apprenticeships above will include Functional Skills in English and Maths, ERR and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.

The Hotel is a high quality 43 bedroom / suite hotel based in Bournemouth. It is a popular venue for weddings and functions
