Main DutiesA Care and Support Worker is expected to provide assistance for clients with personal care needs in the comfort of their own homes. The type of assistance required by each clien! t will be unique to that person, and will include (but not be limited to); encouragement of mental and physical activity by partaking in activities such as reading, writing, and helping clients to indulge in their hobbies and interests the prompting of and administration of medication help with matters of personal hygiene transferring clients with the use of hoists, aids and personal equipment domestic tasks such as setting the table, washing up after meals, changing bed linen, tidying and cleaning rooms, emptying of comodes, cleaning the insides of windows management of central heating systems and of fire lighting as required laundry tasks including ironing shopping, collecting pensions, paying bills, banking money NVQ training in Social Care would be an advantage but is not a requirement for the position, since all necessary training and support will be provided for suitable candidates.Owning and driving a car is not essential, since walking rounds are available in urban ! areas.The role of Care and Support Worker can be one of the mo! st rewarding occupations, since it involves working with individuals on a daily basis to improve their lives and help them to maintain their independence, privacy, autonomy and self esteem - to raise a smile.
