About the role
As an Application Support Analyst you will be providing second line support to the business taking appropriate action to ensure all applications are running to our service level agreements (SLA).
You will be responsible for managing business expectations through effective communication with other technical teams, minimising outages to production systems and producing root cause analysis to enable implementation of appropriate process changes where required.
As part of the Application Support function you will be encouraged to contribute to the i! mprovement and development of the applications currently suppo! rted as well as the processes and procedures of the team. Reporting on incidents, detailing tends and validating production criteria are also key to this role.
About you
When it comes to knowledge of IT Application Support and Development you are a natural with experience in the Financial Services environment to enhance it. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the impact Industry Standards has on LV= and its systems with experience of:
Working with Oracle Database, MS Access, VBA
C#, ASP .net, VB.NET, PL/SQL, SQL
Weblogic, WebSphere, MS SQL server, Unix
You'll have an in-depth knowledge of support practices and models which will enable you to suggest the best solutions to improve the service delivery. Coupled with this you will be able to bring experience in transitioning applications and releases into Application Support.
The ability to comprehend business drivers and look at the wider picture to offer alternatives when necessary ! to avoid re-occurrence through both excellent verbal and written communication is invaluable along with collaboration and influencing on a regular basis. Having proven experience of these will be necessary along with being able to work as part of a team, across all levels of technical, senior and audit departments.
Being educated to graduate to graduate level or equivalent ideally in an IT discipline will certainly be beneficial as will having the awareness of varying development life cycles.
